Calories Burned

Calculate the calories your will burn during your workout.

What Does this Mean?

Your volume of muscle also has an impact on the total number of calories burned.  Muscle is metabolically the most active mass in your body, this means  the more muscle, the more calories you burned.  This explains why all diets should recommend strength training as a good exercise for the best fat loss.  Exercise consumes energy and this energy used calories.  One pound of fat = 3,500 calories, so you can figure out that it takes a lot of exercise to burn 1 pound.

Another source of energy comes from muscle.  When the body does get enough calories and there is not enough excess fat, it will burn muscle, which is not what you want.  Good nutrition is necessary as you burn calories so that you are burning the fat.
