The South Beach Diet, How it  works!

There are 3 Phases to Success

This Diet is really a food lover's favorite. It is all about living well and taking pleasure in what you eat.  It is very flexible, effective, and easy.
Phase 1, is 14 day of blood sugar stabilization and is designed to kill your cravings for refined starches and sugar  It should also jump start you in losing weight. The purpose is to minimizes cravings.  This makes it ideal for those who are pre-diabetic or have any type of diabetes.  Also, for those who desire to eliminate a lot of weight.
 
Phase 2 is the long term Phase of the system.  It is the place to start for people who have 10 lbs or less to lose.  Those who don't have problems with craving sugary things.  And those who do not have excess fat around the belly, or just simply want to be healthier.

Phase 3 is for maintenance at your ideal weight. You will continue to follow the same principles you learned from 1 & 2.  This is the life long stage and includes almost every food.  It allows for indulgences, occasionally, which is the key to long term maintenance of a healthy weight for the rest of your life.
