Weight Loss Recipe: Breakfast Spinach Egg White Omelet

Want a great low calorie high protein breakfast?  Try this spinach egg white omelet.  At 50 Calories this simple breakfast will give you 10 grams of protein.  This is a simple five minute breakfast that anybody can make and will help you stay full without packing on the morning calories. Most people eat high sugar and high carb type foods for breakfast.  Therefore even if your breakfast is low in calories, it will give you food cravings typically within a hour or so.  If you’re lucky to not be hungry after eating a bowl of high sugar cereal or pancakes covered in syrup, you’re in the minority.  Low Calorie recipe for weight loss

I made this mistake early on trying to make low fat pancakes.  The result was that I made them very high in carbohydrates.   Then I added syrup on top of it.  Basically I just give my body a complete sugar rush without any fat or proteins to balance it out.  I don’t know about you, but when I do this, I get agitated and hungry within a few hours no matter how many pancakes I had.  This can completely  sabotage any healthy eating you are trying to do for the rest the day.  Knowing your own body and how it handles proteins, carbs and fat and maintaining the right balance is key.

For me, the best breakfast really needs to contain protein and fruit.   I love to have this spinach egg white omelet with an orange and my coffee. For those of you that have anything negative to say about coffee, please comment below.  Be for warned, I will just assume you’re irritable because you didn’t have your morning cup of Joe. 😏

Breakfast Spinach Egg White Omelet – Weight Loss Recipe

The recipe for the spinach onion egg white omelet is as simple as the name. I put about 1/4 cup of spinach, teaspoon of chopped onions, and a 1/3 cup of egg whites. Spinach in a pan

Weight Loss Recipe for Breakfast

  • 1/4 cup of spinach,
  • 1 tsp of chopped onions
  • 1/3 cup of egg whites (3 egg whites)
  • salt and pepper to taste

I say chopped, but I usually have a half an onion sliced in the fridge.  I just grab a ring or two and tare it with my fingers.  For those of you that love to chop vegetables, have at it, but for me I just grab a handful of spinach and tare it up.

I also put a pinch of salt and pepper to add to the flavor.  Just to let you know I’m a real person, while I was taking pictures of this dish I was getting very hungry.  So the pictures are as good as I could hold myself back from diving in.
